A patient in a Tokyo hospital has been left with serious burns after she passed wind during an operation that ignited the laser a surgeon was using during the procedure.The woman, in her 30s, was undergoing surgery at the Tokyo Medical University Hospital which involved a laser being applied to her cervix and lower part of her uterus.
東京某醫(yī)院一名患者在接受手術(shù)過程中不慎放了一個(gè)屁,這個(gè)屁碰巧被一位外科醫(yī)師在做手術(shù)時(shí)使用的激光點(diǎn)燃了,最終導(dǎo)致這位患者被嚴(yán)重?zé)齻_@位女性患者大約30歲,她在東京大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)部附屬醫(yī)院接受手術(shù)時(shí),醫(yī)生需要在她的子宮頸和子宮較低的地方使用激光治療。
However, as the surgeon carried out the procedure, the patient passed wind as the laser was being used.
但是,就在醫(yī)生給她做手術(shù)的時(shí)候,該患者碰巧在醫(yī)生使用激光的一瞬間放了一個(gè)屁。
It then caused the gas to ignite, sparking a fire, which set her hospital gown and legs ablaze.
然后激光點(diǎn)燃了這位病人的氣體,從而引起一場火災(zāi),導(dǎo)致她的病號服和大腿著火。
She suffered serious burns but is thought to have survived the incident.
她也因此被嚴(yán)重?zé)齻菓c幸的是她從這場災(zāi)難中活下來了。
The fire happened in April this year but only came to light following an internal investigation by the hospital, reported Japanese newspaper Ashai Shimbun. In a report released last week, the probe found that there were no flammable materials in the operating room at the time.

It also added that all equipment used during the procedure was also functioning normally.
